8.3.8. System of definition of presence of the passenger on a forward seat (PPD)

This system is intended for definition of presence of the passenger on a forward seat. In the absence of the passenger the system prevents useless operation of a safety cushion in case of failure. A basic element of system is the loading sensor.

Threshold of sensitivity of the sensor: it is loaded – more than 15 kg, there is no loading – 0,6 kg. Sensor characteristics:

– at loading> 15 kg resistance <50 kiloohms;

– at loading <0,6 kg resistance> 50 kiloohms.
