For removal of the obgonny coupling from a shaft of an anchor of a starter it is necessary to remove lock and restrictive rings (fig. 7.62).
Pull together (down to a leading gear wheel) a restrictive ring from a lock ring. After that the restrictive ring can be removed from a shaft of an anchor of a starter.

Check of absence of short circuit of a winding of an anchor on "weight"

By means of an ohmmeter check absence closed chains (resistance) between everyone ламелью a collector and the anchor core (fig. 7.63).
If the chain is closed (resistance aspires to zero), replace a starter anchor assembled.

Establish an anchor in a grauler (the device for check of a winding of a starter and the generator). If there are signs of short circuit, replace an anchor. If the thin steel plate located at the case of an anchor, vibrates at rotation of an anchor of a starter, the winding of an anchor means is closed накоротко (fig. 7.64).

By means of an ohmmeter check existence closed chains (resistance) between ламелями a collector (fig. 7.65).
If the chain is opened, means there is a break at an anchor winding.

By means of an ohmmeter check existence of the closed chain between conclusions of brushes (fig. 7.66).
If the chain is opened, means there is a break in a stator winding. In this case replace the starter case assembled with a stator winding.

At the winding established on a stator check lack of the closed chain between a brush conclusion (a stator winding) and the starter case, using an ohmmeter (fig. 7.67).
If the chain is closed, replace the starter case assembled with a stator winding.

The brushes worn out below the maximum permissible line it is necessary to replace (fig. 7.68).

Check lack of the closed chain between a plate (plus) of a shchetkoderzhatel and a shchetkoderzhatel (fig. 7.69).
If the chain is closed, replace a shchetkoderzhatel assembled.

Check of the obgonny coupling
Check a leading gear wheel and a gear wreath of a flywheel (model with MKPP) or the hydrotransformer (model with AKPP) on absence задиров or the increased wear.

Rotate a leading gear wheel, holding the case of the obgonny coupling. The gear wheel should rotate smoothly, without jammings in one direction, and not rotate in an opposite direction (fig. 7.70).

Replacement of brushes
Remove a worn-out brush, trying not to damage a brush wire.
Smooth out an emery paper the end of a wire of a brush for providing the strong soldering.

Solder the end of a wire of a brush (fig. 7.71).

Replacement of the plug of a back arm
Before removal of the plug measure and write down depth of landing of the plug in an arm.

The plug can be removed by means of a stripper, as is shown in drawing 7.72.
Press the new plug so that depth of its landing corresponded to the value written down earlier.

Assembly
Establish the obgonny coupling for the forward end of a shaft of an anchor of a starter.

Establish at first a restrictive ring, then a lock ring for the forward end of a shaft of an anchor of a starter. Put on a restrictive ring of the obgonny coupling a lock ring against the stop (fig. 7.73).

At lever installation in a forward arm of a starter pay attention to a lever arrangement. If the lever is established incorrectly (i.e. in an opposite direction), the leading gear wheel remains in the put-forward situation, and (fig. 7.74) cannot correctly work.

Remove the relay of a starter and check a chain condition between conclusions according to the table. If the condition of a chain differs from specified, replace the relay (fig. 7.75).
