2.3.4. Check and gap adjustment in a drive of valves

NOTE
Check and adjustment of gaps in a drive of valves is made on the cold engine (at temperature of cooling liquid: 20 °C and the head of cylinders established on the engine.

Remove a shumozashchitny casing of the engine.
Uncover a maslozalivny mouth.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of the central cover and then uncover.

Remove the top cover of a belt of a drive of GRM (fig. 2.101).
Unscrew bolts of fastening of the top cover of a belt of a drive of GRM and then uncover.
Uncover heads of cylinders.
Disconnect candle wires of a high voltage, holding them for caps and without applying considerable efforts at their detachment.

NOTE
The pulling or bending of a wire of a high voltage can lead to conductor damage in a wire.

Disconnect a hose of compulsory ventilation of a case and a ventilating hose of the valve of compulsory ventilation of a case from a cover of a head of cylinders.
Disconnect a cable of a pedal of an accelerator from a cover of a head of cylinders.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders and then uncover also laying.

Establish the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression (fig. 2.102).
Turn a pulley of a cranked shaft and combine a groove on it with adjusting well-aimed "T" on the indicator of a corner of an advancing of injection (a scale on the bottom cover of a belt of a drive of GRM).

Check that the opening in an asterisk (for a belt) a camshaft is combined with an adjusting label on a cover of the forward bearing of a camshaft. If combination is not present, turn a cranked shaft on one turn (360 °) (fig. 2.103).
Check gaps in a drive of valves.
Check only the valves noted in drawing (when the cylinder No. 1 piston in compression VMT). Measure a gap in a drive of valves.
By means of flat щупа measure a gap between an adjusting washer of a pusher of the valve and a surface of a back (non-working) part of a cam.
Write down results of measurements of a gap in places where the measured size does not correspond to admissible values. These data be required further for selection of a replaced adjusting washer.
Values of a gap in a drive of valves (at temperature of cooling liquid of the engine: 20 °C) are specified below.
Nominal rate:
inlet valves – 0,20 mm;
final valves – 0,28 mm.
Maximum permissible value:
inlet valves – 0,12–0,28 mm;
final valves – 0,20–0,36 mm.

Turn a cranked shaft so that for the valve in which drive the gap is regulated, the acting part of a cam of a camshaft was directed up (fig. 2.106).

By means of the special tool 09220-2D000 press a pusher of the valve and insert a stopper between a camshaft and a valve pusher. Remove the special tool (fig. 2.107).

By means of a small screw-driver and a magnet take an adjusting washer (fig. 2.108).

By means of a micrometer measure thickness of the removed adjusting washer (fig. 2.109).
Calculate thickness of a new adjusting washer which it is necessary to establish that the gap in a drive of the valve corresponded to nominal rate.

N: Thickness of a new adjusting washer.
Inlet valve: N=T + (A–0,20) mm.
Final valve: N=T + (A–0,28) mm.
Pick up a new adjusting washer in thickness as it is possible closer to the calculated size.

NOTE
20 sizes of adjusting washers of a pusher of the valve with a step of 0,04 mm to a range from 2,0 mm to 2,76 mm are provided.

Establish the chosen adjusting washer on a valve pusher.
By means of the special tool 09220-2D000 press a pusher of the valve and remove a stopper.
Again check a gap in a valve drive.

Installation
Remove the remains of old laying and hermetic from the privalochny planes of a head of cylinders and a cover of a head of cylinders.

Put hermetic (Loctite No. 5999) on a cover of a head of cylinders (fig. 2.110).
Establish a cover of a head of cylinders.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders: 8–10 N · m.
Connect a cable of a pedal of an accelerator.
Connect a hose of compulsory ventilation of a case and a ventilating hose of the valve of compulsory ventilation of a case to a cover of a head of cylinders.
Connect candle wires of a high voltage to spark plugs.
Establish the top cover of a belt of a drive of GRM and tighten four bolts of fastening.
Establish the central cover and tighten five bolts of fastening.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the central cover: 2,5–3,5 N · m.
Establish a cover of a maslozalivny mouth.
Establish a shumozashchitny casing of the engine.

Check directing to a chain on lack of a bend, cracks or other defects (fig. 2.111).
Check a rubber overlay of a directing chain on lack of excessive wear.
If necessary replace directing to a chain.

Check chain elements (plugs and plates) on lack of wear. Replace a chain, if wear excessive.

Grease with engine oil basic necks of a camshaft, then establish a camshaft into place (fig. 2.114).

Establish covers of bearings of camshafts. Identification labels on covers of bearings are intended for identification of an installation site of a cover (the party of inlet / final valves) (fig. 2.115).

Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of camshafts the nominal moment of an inhaling in two-three receptions in an order specified by numbers in drawing 2.116.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of the bearing of a camshaft: 12–14 N · m.

By means of the special tool (an opravka for installation of an epiploon of a camshaft 09221-21000) press a camshaft epiploon (fig. 2.117).
Be convinced that the working edge of an epiploon of a camshaft is greased with engine oil. Put on an epiploon a camshaft from an asterisk of a belt of a drive of GRM, then in hammer blows on an opravka establish an epiploon so that it was located aflush with a surface.

Establish an asterisk (for a belt) a camshaft and tighten a bolt of its fastening the nominal moment of an inhaling (fig. 2.118).
The moment of an inhaling of a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of a camshaft (for a belt): 80–100 N · m.
Combine labels on asterisks of cranked and distributive shaft with the corresponding adjusting labels and establish the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression.
Establish a cover of a head of cylinders.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders: 8–10 N · m.
Establish ignition coils assembled, candle wires of a high voltage and the central kryshky

Establish a belt of a drive of GRM, and then when the roller of a natyazhitel will pull a belt, tighten fastening of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.119).
Establish covers of a belt of a drive of GRM.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a cover of a belt of a drive of GRM: 8–10 N · m.
Establish a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and a pulley of a cranked shaft.
